Prof.dr. Diana Šimić


Prof. Diana Šimić is Vice-Dean for Research and an Associate Professor at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin, Croatia. From 2002 to 2008 she held positions of the Assistant Minister responsible for Information Society at the Ministry for Science and Technology and Deputy State Secretary at the Central State Administrative Office for e-Croatia.

She participated in drafting and implementing several national policy and strategic documents related to the development of information society in Croatia. She participated in Croatian negotiation for EU accession in the area of information society and media and public procurement, and in the preparation of Croatian participation in the World Summit on Information Society (2002-2005).She was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Information Systems and Information Technologies Support Agency in Zagreb, Croatia, and Management Councils of the University Computing Centre of the University of Zagreb and the Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet. Since 2007 she chairs the eSouthEast Europe Initiative Working Group – an intergovernmental initiative working under the umbrella of the Regional Cooperation Council. Since 2008 she chairs the Supervisory Board of the Centre for e-Governance Development in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Her current activities include research and teaching in the area of Information Society development and research methods in information sciences, and consulting in the area of e‑Governance and e‑Business.
